It can be the site of an irritant contact dermatitis or allergic contact dermatitis if exposed to certain chemicals or allergens. The one condition that has a particular affinity for the finger webspace area is scabies. This parasite infection is often concentrated at the webspace of the fingers and causes a very itchy, raised rash. Scabies most often affects children but can be very contagious and can spread from child to adult.
