Adult, Male, Neck (Edit search)

Click the pictures below for information about skin conditions that can affect the neck in adults. In men there are several problems that can affect the neck. On the nape of the neck, chronic infection and scarring of the hair follicles can lead to a condition called acne keloidalis nuchae, which is more common in darker-skinned individuals and can be disfiguring. Lighter-skinned individuals can be prone to the development of a condition called poikiloderma of Civatte. This condition is the result of sun damage and typically affects older adults. Cutis rhomboidalis nuchae is another sun-related change that causes the skin to take on a rough, leathery appearance in elderly adults. As with any other sun-exposed area, skin cancer is always a concern involving the backs of adults.
