The images below are those of skin diseases that can affect the anogenital area in children. The anogenital region includes the area of skin around the genitals and buttocks. This is a sensitive area of skin with hair follicles, so it is susceptible to boils (pus-filled bumps on a hair follicle) or folliculitis (red, irritated bumps caused by friction often associated with an ingrown hair). Similarly to the rest of the skin on the body, psoriasis and dermatitis can be found in the anogenital region, particularly in skin folds.
