Adult, Male, Chin (Edit search)
The chin in the adult is subject to many types of skin conditions. Often, skin ailments that affect the area around the mouth will also extend to the chin. Perioral dermatitis and cold sores (orofacial herpes) are examples of this. Acne will often appear on the chin, although this is more common in younger adults and teens. Impetigo is a skin infection that causes a honey-colored appearance of the skin and can affect the chin. In men with tightly curled facial hair, shaving may lead to razor bumps (pseudofolliculitis barbae) as the hair grows back into the skin. Many grooming products can also cause different types of dermatides in this area, as well, such as allergic contact dermatitis.
