The forehead is highly exposed to the sun, which is a significant source of skin problems on this area of skin. Actinic keratoses are skin changes that can often evolve into skin cancer. Squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, and melanoma can all develop on the forehead as a result of years of sun exposure. Although acne is less common in adults, skin changes from acne can occur, such as darkening of the skin known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation due to scarring from acne.
