Adult, Female, Chest (Edit search)

The images below link to information about the many conditions that can affect the chest. Many of the conditions that may affect the chest also can involve many parts of the body, but a few conditions characteristically involve the chest. Nipple dermatitis is an irritation of the nipples from a variety of causes. In women, for example, this can be the result of breast-feeding, although chemical and irritation from something such as a fiber of a bra or shirt can also cause this condition. Sometimes fungal infections can affect the skin of the chest. The two most common fungal infections are tinea versicolor and ringworm (tinea corporis). Shingles (zoster) typically causes a very painful rash on just one side of the chest. Pityriasis rosea is rash that mainly affects just the chest and back, and it causes multiple pink- or salmon-colored patches that last for several weeks.
